About the Owner
Fahmi Elabed, owner of Piccolo Trattoria Catering, developed a passion for Italian food since he began working in a pizzeria at the age of 12. This same passion led him to open his first restaurant, Piccolo Trattoria, in 2001 in Newtown, PA. His devotion to high quality and flair for creativity propelled the restaurant’s success, leading to the opening of a second restaurant in Pennington, NJ in 2005. Demand in his Pennington location gave birth to his newest concept, Piccolo Pronto in Ewing, NJ. Opened in 2016 on the campus of The College of New Jersey, this restaurant serves not only the students, faculty and surrounding area residents, but a portion of the proceeds supports local food banks through his non-profit organization Piccolo Family Foundation to end hunger, build healthier lives and empower the community. Opening in Spring of 2016, is the newest addition to the Piccolo Trattoria family in Doylestown, PA which will feature all the famed Piccolo dishes, as well as a full bar for alcoholic beverages, private dining room for up to 100 guests and of course a Pizzeria, and Bistro with open kitchen. Fahmi continues to be heavily involved in the day-to-day operations of all four restaurants and his passion continues for his on and off premise catering division and his loyal customers.
About Piccolo Trattoria Catering
Our mission is simple: we strive to exceed your expectations. We do this by insisting on the highest quality ingredients, providing impeccable service and by paying attention to the smallest details to make sure you and your guests are completely satisfied. We understand that our employees are our most valuable asset, and as such are consistently providing them with opportunities for improvement and growth. We foster an ongoing atmosphere of mutual respect, honesty, integrity, grace and pride in our work – core values that we show to each other and to our guests.
We also believe the measure of a restaurant’s success lies not only in the number of sales made or guests seated, but also by the impact we make in our communities. Piccolo Trattoria Catering is involved in several business and professional organizations, and supports local organizations such as schools and youth groups through various fundraisers, monetary and in-kind donations. We also donate leftover food to be distributed to the local homeless shelters, so that nothing ever goes to waste. Our employees also regularly volunteer at the Trenton Soup Kitchen.
All of the staff and our entire business of Piccolo Trattoria are dedicated to our community. We stay involved in community activities by participating in events, and through our memberships in business and professional associations. Whenever we have a chance, Piccolo gives back to the communities in which our customers and employees live.
